Our family had a pre-Easter picnic this year with my sis, brother-in law and their sweet kiddos. I had such a blast prepping all the easter baskets, gathering up my favorite spring linens and getting our menu together! The weather was absolutely gorgeous so the boys had fun throwing the football while the girls sipped mimosas on the blankets. I used a fun mix of colors, all set off by a vintage ikat quilt I bought several years ago from a market in Jaipur, India. My picnic basket and milk glass serving pieces are vintage and pair perfectly with my new turquoise linen napkins with the sweetest crochet trim of all time!
I made each one of the kids a special Easter basket, Mr. and Miss bunnies for little Liam and Livi, colorful lime, blue and white pom poms for Cade and golden pastel butterflies for Brighton. I love making one of a kind baskets every year for my kids and watching them while they hunt eggs together! The competition gets fierce, especially when they know Momma has a few “surprise” eggs in the mix. They run around, laughing and being silly, and piling as many eggs as they can into their baskets. It’s hysterical!
Look at those smiles! Even little Livi, Priceless!!!
I just adore spending time with my family and planning fun ways to celebrate together. We had such a perfect day in the sweet springtime sun, I’d say an Easter picnic will be one of our new family traditions!
